Design Mode command
Use this command to access the Design Mode. In the Design Mode, it is possible to change any aspect of the CaseView document. This includes cell creation and modification, use of the Linkage worksheet and text modification. When creating a document from scratch, or are making structural changes to an existing template, the document should start in the Design Mode first.
To access the Design mode, do one of the following:
- On the Home tab, in the Document group, click Editing | Design Mode.
- On the View tab, in the Mode group, click Design Mode.

- When entering a document for the first time, Form Mode will open. In the Form Mode, functionality is limited to entering data into input cells and printing the document. The Form Mode is designed specifically for users of the software who are providing completion information to a document. Therefore, functions of the Form Mode are restricted to minor modifications assuming the basic template for the document is already developed.
- The pencil icon, used to toggle between the current and last accessed mode, may be unavailable if document settings or user permissions restrict access to only one mode. The document author or user account administrator should be contacted to enable multiple modes.
