Split/Unsplit Vertically command

Allows the screen or freeze pane to be spilt vertically. Using this option, each portion of the screen on either side of the split can be scrolled horizontally independent of the other side of the spilt. This allows information in one part of the screen to be displayed against any other information in the other side of the split.

When selected, a dashed line appears on the screen. This line can be positioned as needed. Clicking the mouse positions a bar that designates the split in the window. The split can be resized by dragging the split bar on the screen.

Once split, both sides of the split scroll vertically together.

To remove the split from the screen, click the split bar and select Window Unsplit vertically.

  • The split also can be performed in any header or footer, though Freeze panes can be split only in Design Mode. The screen can be split horizontally or vertically, but not both at the same time.
  • The screen can be split horizontally or vertically at the same time.
  • When performing a zoom on a split screen, both sides of the screen will zoom to the same percentage to keep the contents in sync.
