File Extension Index
You can use the following file extensions in Working Papers:

| .AC | Establishing file | A Working Papers file containing information such as the version and links established to the database files. |
| .AC_ | Compressed file | A compressed Working Papers file and all related files. |
| .BAK | Backup file | A backup copy of a file that you can decompress and open to restore the previous version of a file. |
| .CDX | Index file | A file containing the index for database files. |
| .CGF | Cell group file | A file containing CaseView cell group information. |
| .CLG | Change log file | A temporary file that transmits change data between multiple users. |
| .CMF | Custom menu file | A file containing CaseView custom menu information. |
| .CSC | Checksum calculation file | A temporary file that calculates checksums for documents between multiple users. |
| .CVW | CaseView file | A CaseView file, accessible in CaseView. |
| .CWZ | Compression file | A temporary file copy created during file compression. |
| .DBF | Database file | A file containing data for the Working Papers file. Each database file contains information specific to a certain part of the file. |
| .DEF, .DFX, .EFX, .DFE, .DAS, .EAS, .DAP, .EAP | Layout files | A file containing the account ranges for consolidated files. |
| .FPT | Memo file | A file containing memorandum and additional text related to content in database files. |
| .INI | Initial configuration file | A file containing Template configuration settings. |
| .LCK | Exclusive access locking file | A temporary file that tracks exclusive access to a COM between multiple users. |
| .LOCKS | Locking file | A temporary file that tracks access to files between multiple users. |
| .MCH | Mapping cache file | A file containing automatic mapping information. |
| .SCI | Client information file | A file containing SmartSync client information. |
| .SCL | Conflict log file | A file containing a log of SmartSync synchronization conflicts. |
| .SFG | Map file | A file containing SmartSync file mapping information. |
| .SLG | Log file | A file containing a log of SmartSync activity. |
| .STY | Style file | A file containing CaseView style information. |
| .TMP | Temporary file | A temporary file created during various processes. |
| .TVR | Tax version file | A file containing the current tax year version. |
| .TXT | Text file | A file containing log information for import, export, and conversion processes. |
| .VER | Version tracking file | A file containing minor version changes. |
| .XML | Extensible markup language file | A file containing sign out, check out, and saved layout information. |
