Setting view behavior

You can control how map/group numbers are displayed in the drop-down menus and the behavior of drill-down on numeric values.

Specifying map browse options

You can specify whether to view all mapping/grouping numbers or only the mapping/grouping numbers that have balances assigned to them. You can also choose to view them in a hierarchical format.

  1. Open the Financial statements document and select the Global Setup tab
  2. From the (Map browse) drop-down, select one of the following viewing options:

    Option Description
    All Display all map/group numbers.
    Balances Display only map numbers with balances.
  3. From the (Map browse) drop-down, select one of the following options to control how map/group numbers are displayed in the drop-down:

    Option Description
    View As Hierarchy

    Display the map numbers in a hierarchy.

    View As List

    List the map numbers in numeric order.

The mapping numbers are displayed as specified.

Specifying the drill down method for cells

For any value in the financial statements, including DIY content, you can double-click on the cell containing the value to drill down and display the supporting detail. Two drill down options are available:

  • Open the CaseView Calculation Explorer to show the calculation used to derive the value. For more information on the Calculation Explorer, or more details on this method, see Calculation Explorer in the CaseView help.
  • Show a filtered trial balance that displays the accounts that make up the value of the cell.
  1. Open the Financial statements document and select the Global Setup tab.

  2. From the (Drill down) drop-down, select one of the following viewing options:

    Option Description
    Calculation explorer Open the CaseView Calculation Explorer.
    Filtered trial balance Show the filtered trial balance.

The specified drill down behavior is implemented.
