Importing from DacEASY

If you are importing from DacEASY v4.2, the required DacEASY files include:

File Containing...
DEA4ACCT.DB Chart of accounts
DEA4GLTD.DB General ledger detail (optional)
DEA4GNRL.DB Profile information

If you are importing from DacEASY v4.3 or v4.4, the required DacEASY files include:

File Containing...
DA43ACCT.DB Chart of accounts
DA43GLTD.DB General ledger detail (optional)
DA43GNRL.DB Profile information
DEAACCT.DB Chart of accounts

If you are importing from DacEasy v6.0, Win v9.0-12.0, or Win v13.0, the required files include:

File Containing...
DEAGLTD.DB General ledger detail (optional)
DEAGNRL.DB Profile information
DEAGLTH.DB A yes/no indicator for each transaction record to show whether the entry affects the trial balance. If the answer is "No", the entry will not be imported into Working Papers.
  • If Protection is activated, the File permission "Import" is required to perform this operation.
  1. Open the client file in which you want to import.

  2. On the Engagement tab, in the Data group, click Import | Accounting Software.

  3. In the Import From field, select DacEASY and in the Version field, select the version that you want to import.

    Note: Click here to see all accounting software supported versions.

  4. In the Import Path field, type the exact path where the file you want to import resides or use Browse to locate the file manually.

  5. Under Import Components, choose to import either:

    • The Trial Balance (Opening Entries) or,
    • The General Ledger Detail.
  6. To import client information, click Import Client Information. This information will be displayed in the Engagement Properties dialog.

  7. Complete the remaining fields of the dialog. >>Quick Reference
  8. Click OK to begin importing.

The information from the DacEASY files will be imported into the Working Papers client file.

  • DacEasy versions 6.0 and 9.0 customize the journal source for general ledger transactions instead of listing them all under the general journal.
