CLASS Function

The CLASS function links a ratio class balance from the accounting database to a cell in CaseView. Ratio class balances can be added together or one account subtracted from another. CaseView’s linkage worksheet is the quickest way to link ratio class balances using the CLASS function. The exact syntax will be added automatically using the linkage worksheet.

CLASS("Value","ratio class")

Where

The Value is the type of balance.

The ratio class represents the abbreviation for the ratio class referenced to accounts in the Working Trial Balance.

Listing of available ratio classes

CLASS("BA","CL")

Returns the current year to date balance plus normal adjustments of all accounts referenced to the Current Liabilities ratio.

  • In the Report tab, the print column is used to restrict the conditions under which the balance of an account can print or display. For example, selecting credit allows the account to print only if it is in a credit balance. When displaying balances, the CLASS function uses these options set in the report tab to determine whether to include or exclude a balance in the total calculation.
