Inserting or Modifying a Hyperlink

Document designers are now able to include links to items, such as authoritative references on the internet, within any CaseView document. Options have been included to disguise the link address as alternate text, modify the color and underline attributes of the link, and to choose whether or not an end user will be able to add and modify links in Form Mode and Form Mode with Enable Editing.

Hyperlinks are inserted as hyperlink objects. These objects may contain multiple URLs, or may be left empty to be filled in by the end user in Form Mode.

Using the Hyperlink command

  1. In Design Mode, place the cursor in the location in which a hyperlink is to be inserted.
  2. On the Insert tab, click Hyperlink to launch the Hyperlinks dialog.
  3. Click New.
  4. In the Display Text box, enter the display text which will appear in the document. This may be entered as standard text (in double-quotes) or as a calculation which links to information elsewhere in the software.

Note: Leaving the Display Text box will not enter a default value, such as the associated URL. As this is a calculation, a blank field will result in a hidden link within the document.

  5. In the URL box, enter the link address.
  6. Configure any remaining options as needed. See Hyperlinks for more information on specific options.
  7. Click OK.

To modify an existing link, simply right-click on the link and select Edit Hyperlinks... to open the same dialog.
