Simply Accounting Windows Import Dialog Options

Depending on the version that you are importing from and the import components that you selected, some of the fields/options may be disabled.

Field Description
Client ID The name of the Simply Accounting Windows client.
Budget Data Imports the budget data.
Import current year Imports the current year balances.
Import prior year as current

Imports the prior year as the current year.

Note: When choosing this option, there will be no corresponding prior year information imported into the Working Papers file.

Import prior year balance Imports the comparative balance into Working Papers.
Skip GIFI data Excludes GIFI code numbers from the import.
Update Sign field on import Updates the existing accounts' Sign field with the one being imported if an existing account's Sign attribute does not agree with the same account being imported from Simply Accounting.
Import as yearly file Imports the data as a yearly file.
Use project to build entity Uses the project to build entities.
Use department/division to build entity Uses department/division codes to build entities if the Simply Accounting file uses department or division codes.
Monthly period date sequence

Imports the monthly budget figures.

Note: The yearly budget balances are imported by default unless this is selected.

Merge acct. no. and department code

Merges the account numbers and department codes together. For example, the imported account will be XXXX.001 where XXXX is the account number and 001 is the department code. In this case, no sub entity is created.

To create sub entities using department codes and place each imported account under the corresponding entity, leave this check box unselected.

Build entity for consolidated company Builds an entity for a consolidated company on import.
Import closing journals as transactions Imports the closing journals as transactions.
User ID The Simply Accounting user ID with permissions to access the client database. The sysadmin user ID is often recommended.
Password The password for the specified user.
