Creating an export file in BusinessVision

To import from most versions of BusinessVision, you will need to create an export file. This export file will contain the chart of accounts and general ledger data from BusinessVision. The procedure for export files differs between BusinessVision 32 7.x and BusinessVision 32 version 6.x and earlier.

BusinessVision 32 version 6.x and earlier

While in the BusinessVision application, access the export module and choose to export the chart of accounts and opening balances for the year as Delimited files.

You need to import the following files into Working Papers:

  • GL-CHART.TXT to import the chart of accounts
  • GL.TXT to import the general ledger detail (optional)
  • BVCON.FIL to import the profile information

Note: In order to avoid duplication or incorrect balances, export only Opening Balances from BusinessVision.
