The File Change Conflict Dialogs

Use any one of the three File Change conflict dialogs to view versions of a document in a synchronized client file.

  1. Change Conflicts dialog: Launched from the Synchronization conflicts dialog by clicking Confirm or double clicking on the file change conflict.
  2. Multiple Versions dialog: Launched by opening the document with a file change conflict.
  3. Versions dialog: Launched by right-clicking on the document with a file change and selecting Show Versions.

All of these File Change conflict dialogs generally behave the same where you can confirm which document is the correct version or you can open the document without resolving the conflict. The dialog will always open as long as the conflict exists for the document. The dialog automatically closes once you have confirmed the correct version.

Indicator icons display which versions are unavailable when the file is offline. When a new sync copy is created, SmartSync copies down the versions that are needed to apply outstanding file events and the versions needed to resolve outstanding conflicts. If the sync copy is offline, the versions which have not yet been retrieved will display an Offline indicator as an overlay.

If there are multiple people who generate identical versions of a document, the additional people who generated the document will be listed under the change as "Also By:". The first line will show the user information and date for the version that was most recently generated (used to show the info for the earliest generated version).
