About Rounding Relations
Use rounding relations to change the appearance of figures in the financial statements and to balance the financial statements.
The CaseView rounding relations feature automatically calculates the difference between two cells and places the difference into a third cell, the plug cell. The rounding formula is as follows:
Cell 1 - Cell 2 = PLUG CELL
Consider the balance sheet as an example. With the balance sheet, the difference between the Total Assets and Total Liabilities and Equity to be plugged into a rounding account. The values for Cell 1, Cell 2 and the plug CELL will differ depending on whether an asset account or a liability account is used as the rounding account (PLUG CELL).
