Formatting tab - Edit Cell dialog

Specifies options for shading the cell.

Type

Select the pattern of shading.

None

Sets cell to have no shading in design and Form Mode as well as during printing, regardless of the default color of the paragraph or table.

If the paragraph has shading, the cell appears as a white square in all modes.

Default

Sets cell to display the default paragraph or table shading color in Design Mode and when printing – but not in Form Mode (with or without editing enabled).

If the paragraph has shading, the cell appears as white only in Form Mode.

Transparent

Sets cell to use the default shading color for the paragraph or table in all modes and when printing.

Pattern

Sets cell to use the pattern selected.

Color

Select the color to be used for shading in the Color box. When selected, a pop up box appears with 20 predefined colors. Pick from this list by clicking the desired color or click the other button to customize another color.

Print Shading

Clear this option to prevent cell shading from showing when printing, previewing and exporting to HTML.

Note: If any of the following options are grayed out, it means that option is not available for this particular type of cell. Changes required would have to be made for the whole Cell Group definition and could only be done in Form Mode with editing enabled if the user had the correct permissions.

Currency/ Unit Symbol

Specifies options for shading a currency sign in the cell. These options apply to numeric cells only. Selecting default uses the default setting for shading a currency sign. To modify default cell properties, from the Document tab, click Cell Options.

Right Bracket

Specifies options for shading the right bracket if the figure is a negative value. These options apply to numeric cells only. Selecting default uses the default setting for shading right brackets. To modify default cell properties, from the Document tab, click Cell Options.

Select the type of underline you want to apply. To modify underline options, from the Document tab, click Cell Options.

None

No underline will appear in the cell.

Single

A single underline will be applied to the cell.

Double

A double underline will be applied to the cell.

Descended Single

A descended single underline will be applied to the cell.

Descended Double

A descended double underline will be applied to the cell.

2nd Single

Attributes of the second single underline will be applied to the cell. To define the appearance of the 2nd Single underline, on the Document tab, click Cell Options.

2nd Double

Attributes of the second double underline will be applied to the cell. To define the appearance of the 2nd Double underline, on the Document tab, click Cell Options.

2nd Descended Single

Attributes of the second descended single underline will be applied to the cell. To define the appearance of the 2nd Descended Single underline, on the Document tab, click Cell Options.

2nd Descended Double

Attributes of the second descended double underline will be applied to the cell. To define the appearance of the 2nd Descended Double underline, on the Document tab, click Cell Options.

User 1 to User 7

Select to apply the user-defined line style created in the Document | Cell options dialog.

Underline text only

Select to underline only text characters within the cell. Use this option if the cell is fixed length and the contents of the cell do not extend to the cell borders. In this case, you may not want the cell underline to appear longer than the contents of the cell.

Underline only last line of cell

Select to underline only text characters in the last line of a cell. The check box has no effect on cells that do not wrap.

Currency/ Unit Symbol

Specifies underlining options if the cell contains a currency sign. These options apply to numeric cells only. Selecting Default uses the default setting for underlining currency signs. To modify default cell properties, from the Document tab, click Cell Options. To extend the cell underline to the currency sign, click Underline. To prevent the underline from extending to the currency sign, select don't underline.

Right Bracket

Specifies underlining options if the cell contains a negative value with brackets. This option applies to numeric cells only. Selecting Default uses the default setting for underlining right brackets. To modify default cell properties, from the Document tab, click Cell Options.

Hide/Skip Condition

If applicable, type a logical condition to prevent the underline from being printed when the criteria are met. Click images\extdesc_shg.gif to access the Calculation Editor and create a skip condition.
