Customizing Individual Invoices in CaseView

Some customization of the individual invoices is possible at the processing stage. For invoices using the detailed invoice setup, only an input line is available by clicking the Edit Memo button. Invoices generated using the basic or the miscellaneous invoice setups can be customized much further.

  1. On the Process menu, click Billings/Invoices, and then Billings from WIP or Miscellaneous Invoices.
  2. Select the Client number and invoice number to customize.
  3. As applicable, modify the invoice type (Billings from WIP) and date.
  4. Select the appropriate billing format. The preset billing formats provide the following:

    AUTO

    Takes the long description from the Billing Format tab and adds the invoice date in a separate field. If no long description exists, it takes the short description. The default line is "For professional services rendered to <Invoice date>." This is the only format that inserts the date. If multiple charges are being included on this invoice they are displayed in a table with short descriptions beside each charge.

    FREE

    Rolls all the charges into a subtotal. Provides the ability to enter a unique description for the invoice through the memo function (Detailed Invoice) or directly in a blank field (Basic).

    All others

    Like the AUTO format without the date field, these formats provide details of all charges included and the standard description as defined in the Billing Formats tab.

  5. Click the Edit Memo button to enter additional lines of information.
  6. Ensure that the amount of the invoice is entered correctly.
  7. In the Billings from WIP dialog, click the lookup button in the Invoice Style box to select the invoice to use, the detailed invoice or the basic invoice.
  8. Click images\cvppbut_shg.gif to modify the invoice using CaseView.
