Best Practices: Cleanup and the Year-end Close

The Cleanup process should be completed prior to a year-end close. This is important to ensure that the new file only contains the desired information; all other information will be deleted according to the selections made during the Cleanup. Follow this basic work flow:

  1. Select the items to retain on Cleanup.
  2. Run the Engagement Cleanup Wizard.
  3. Perform a Year End Close.

If you wish to have items not marked for Cleanup included in your next year's client file:

  1. Complete a year-end close.
  2. Create the next year's file.
  3. Run the Cleanup process on the prior year's file.
