Performing a Cleanup in a Client File

Perform a Cleanup in your client file to remove any unwanted items. During a Cleanup, the following items will be deleted:

  • Documents and issues that do not have the Retain on Cleanup checkbox checked
  • History and milestone events if selected in the Engagement Cleanup Wizard
  • All issues that are not attached to documents
  • All temporary (.tmp) or backup (.bak) files
  • If Protection is activated, you require the Engagement right, Clean Up, to perform this operation.
  • Select the items that you want to retain >>How Do I?
  1. Open the Working Papers client file that you would like to clean.
  2. On the Engagement ribbon, click Clean Up.

    The Engagement Cleanup Wizard opens.

  3. Complete both screens of the wizard.
  4. Click Finish to process the Cleanup.

Note: A warning will appear to verify that you are aware of the permanency of the Cleanup. Click Yes if you are sure that you want to complete the Cleanup.

The items with the Retain on Cleanup option checked will remain in the client file, while all other items will be deleted, including history and milestone events if selected. You are now well prepared to run a Year End Close.
