Transaction Amount, Tax Amount, Accumulated Budget as Dated, and Post to Prior Year as Dated Settings

When importing General Ledger Detail into Working Papers in ASCII text file or Excel format, you can specify the details and columns in the Field Details screen. The additional specifications are outlined below for the following columns:

  • Transaction Amount
  • Tax Amount
  • Accumulated Budget as dated
  • Post to Prior Year as dated

Note: When you make a selection in the Date Range area for one of the above settings, that option is selected for all the settings.

Option Description
Debit & Credit Field Select this option if the data in this column contains both debits and credits.
Debit Field

Select this option if the data in this column contains only debits.

Note: When this option is selected, if there are no credit columns specified, the field will change the setting to debit & credit.

Credit Field

Select this option if the data in this column contains only credits.

Positive Imports as credits: Select this check box when there are balances in the separate credit column that contain positive or mixed (negatives and positives) values. Conversely, clear this check box if the credits are all negative.

When importing general ledger detail, you may choose to import only those transactions falling within a specific range of dates. This cuts down on the number of records being imported, saving time and file space.

Option Description
All transactions (data will be converted to fall within the current year) All transactions will be imported and the data will be converted to fall within the current year.
Only transactions within the current Engagement Properties year Transactions that fall within fiscal year set in the Engagement Properties will be imported.
Only within Engagement Properties Period Number Select a period number as set in the Engagement Properties. Only transactions that fall within that period will be imported.
Only from: [date] to: [date]

Select a period number as set in the Engagement Properties. Only transactions that fall within that period will be imported.

  • The date range setting is not saved for future use. If this dialog is not opened while preparing subsequent imports all transactions will be imported by default. Therefore, you must open this dialog and set a date range each time you want to import a specific range of transactions.
