Importing from ProSystem fx Engagement

Conversion of a single file is performed while an existing Working Papers client file is open in the interface. This client file can be created using the File | Copy Components or the New from Client Data options in Working Papers.

  • Stop the SQL Server associated with ProSystem fx Engagement.

  • If Protection is activated, you require the File right, Import, to perform this operation.
  • Familiarize yourself with the troubleshooting steps.
  1. Open the client file in which you want to import.

  2. Open the SQL Configuration Manager and locate the SQL instance associated with ProSystem fx, not the instance that you just installed. Right-click the icon for this instance and select Stop.
  3. Run Working Papers as Administrator to perform the import. To run Working Papers in this mode, right-click on the shortcut for Working Papers and select Run as Administrator.
  4. Select File | Import | ProSystem fx Engagement to begin the import process. The ProSystem fx Engagement Import Wizard will display.
  5. Click Next on the Welcome screen.
  6. Complete the Import Settings. Click Next once you have selected the appropriate settings.
  7. Complete the Import Options. Click Next once you have selected the types of information that will be imported.
  8. Complete the Client Selection dialog. Click Next.
  9. Select a Binder from the list of Binders for this client. This represents the information that will be imported into Working Papers.

  10. Click the Import button to being the process.

    For the trial balance in your Binder or for each trial balance in a consolidated Binder, the Select Grouping dialog is displayed.

  11. Click OK.

Once the import process completes you will be returned to the Working Papers interface and you file will be ready to use.

The following sign-off information is migrated into Working Papers:

  • Sign-off dates
  • One preparer
  • First and second reviewers
