Resolving Change Conflicts

Users working on the same external document, such as Word, Excel, or CaseView documents, at the same time from their own synchronized copies may cause a File Change conflict which cannot be automatically resolved. Duplication conflicts, can be caused when multiple users work on the same database at the same time from their own synchronized copies.

  1. Open the client file.
  2. On the SmartSync tab, click Show Conflicts.
  3. (Optional) Select a version and click View to ensure the correct file is being.
  4. (Optional) Select a version and click Save As to save a version of the document under a different name.
  5. Select the version to set as the Current Version and click Confirm.
  6. Click Close.

The file change conflicts in the file are resolved.

  • External documents with conflicting versions display a warning flag over the document icon on Document Manager. Opening the document displays the Multiple Versions dialog to resolve the conflict or click Continue to launch the current version of the external document.

  • Only the document selected as the Current Version exists in the synchronized client files with all other versions saved in the sync log. These files can be viewed and selected to replace the current version.
