Network Performance
To test network performance, try the following:
- From the affected workstation, ping the address of the parent file host. Unstable network connections display timed out responses and/or high packet loss percentages.
- Run the Sync Stress tool, to confirm network issues.
-
Isolate the user access profiles to troubleshoot them separately and determine if the issue is related to a certain type of connectivity.
Some examples of typical access profiles are:
- Parent files on the same LAN - wired 1GB connection
- Client site 1 - VPN over client network/Internet
- Client site 2 - VPN over mobile network
-
Gather information about user computers, servers and networks:
- Workstation operating system, service packs, manufacturer, and model.
- File server(s) operating system, service packs, manufacturer, and model.
- LAN/WAN manufacturer(s), encryption, and network acceleration.
