Contacts structure in Time

Contacts are defined as people with associated companies.

The structure of Contacts in Time distinguishes between Contact People and Contact Companies.

  • This field must have a value to add a record for a contact person. You can add duplicate entries for this field; surnames do not have to be unique among contact people.

  • This field is generated automatically from the following Contact name fields in the following order: Pre Name, First Name, Last Name, Post Name.

  • This field must be unique for each contact person; no duplicate entries are allowed. This rule applies to staff, as well.

  • This field must have a value to add a record for a contact company. You can add duplicate entries for this field; company names do not have to be unique among contact companies.

  • This field can have duplicate entries for contact companies; company emails do not have to be unique. This rule applies to client emails, as well.

After you open your Time file from a previous version into Time 2015, you cannot access the Contacts area until you perform a contact conversion. You can access the Contact Conversion Wizard from the menu Tools | Contact Conversion. Use the Help button from the wizard dialog for more information about the Contact Conversion Wizard.
