Format - Numbers
In the Linkage dialog, you can use the format drop down to specify how numbers appear in the document. This option leverages the Word and Excel formatting options to display numbers according to your preference.
Word
| Format | Description |
|---|---|
| Current Format | Show the number as it is. |
| -10,000 | Negative numbers are indicated with '-'. |
| (10,000) | Negative numbers are in brackets. |
| 10,000 | Negative numbers are in black. |
| $10,000 | Negative numbers are in black beside the currency symbol. |
| $-10,000 | Negative numbers are indicated with '-' beside the currency symbol. |
| $(10,000) | Negative numbers are in brackets beside the currency symbol. |
| -9,999.99 | Negative numbers are indicated with '-', with two decimal places. |
| (9,999.99) | Negative numbers are in brackets, with two decimal places. |
| 9,999.99 | Negative numbers are in black, with two decimal places. |
| $9,999.99 | Negative numbers are in black beside the currency symbol, with two decimal places. |

In Word, Connector leverages the Advanced field properties to add the appropriate formatting arguments to the linkage formula. You can see the linkage modifications by right-clicking the link in Word and selecting Toggle Field Codes.

In Excel, Connector leverages cell formatting to apply custom formats to numbers. You can see the custom format applied in Excel by right-clicking the cell and selecting Format Cells.
