To assign documents

Use this dialog to assign documents to the protection group selected in the Protection Setup dialog. A group must be selected and password protection must be in use before document assignment by group can be performed.

  1. On the Tools menu, click Protection and then click Protection Setup.
  2. Click Assign.
  3. In the window "Select one or more document(s)", open and close folders to locate specific documents to assign.
  4. Assign the document(s) to the selected protection group as follows:
    • To assign a document check the box to its left.
    • To assign all the documents in a folder, check the box beside the folder
    • To assign all documents on the Document Manager to a protection group, check the box beside the Time folder.
  5. In the window Assign groups to highlighted document(s), check the protection groups to assign to the selected document(s).
    Each document can have a different selection of protection groups.
  6. Click OK. The document assignment is completed when you press OK.

Note: Once document assignment is completed and protection enforced, users are permitted access only to those documents to which they are assigned.
