Work Codes and Classifications

What is the difference between a work code and a work code classification?

A work code classification is used to group together a set of work codes. For example, you could create the work code classification C100 that could include all audit, accounting, and tax services. Each audit, accounting, and tax service work code would be referenced to the C100 work code classification by entering this code in the Class column of the Work tab in the Work Codes dialog.

The benefit of "classifying" work codes can be found when a specific WIP report is needed for grouping together a set of work codes.
