Hiding rows in an automatic document

You can hide rows in automatic documents to filter and focus the information presented.

  1. While in the automatic document, locate the row to hide and right-click it.
  2. Select Hide rows.

All rows of the same type as the one selected will be hidden, not just the one chosen. Thus, if you select a subproject row to hide, all occurrences of the subproject row will be hidden in the document.

Multiple row types may be hidden together by selecting one of each type and right-clicking one to select the hide command.

  • For consecutive rows, hold down the Shift key and click the first and then the last row in the group.
  • For non-consecutive rows, hold down the CTRL key and click each row.

To make the rows appear on the report again, right click the report and select Restore rows. All hidden rows will reappear. If you meant to restore only a few row types, repeat the process for hiding rows for the ones that should remain hidden.

  • If you make a mistake, right-click the document and select Restore all. The original layout of the document will be restored. Hidden rows as well as hidden columns will be reshown on the document.
  • You can freeze the row of column headers to preserve column headings context when scrolling lengthy automatic documents. Right-click on the document to select a Freeze option or to disable this feature. For more information see "Freezing column headings" in the topic Hiding or reordering columns in an automatic document.
