Welcome to the Maintenance Wizard - Abandon Synchronized Copies

When using Working Papers SmartSync, you have the option to abandon outstanding synchronized copies. An outstanding synchronized copy refers to a copy that is not connected to the parent file (offline) with potential outstanding changes that have not transmitted to the parent. Abandoning synchronized copies prevents lost synchronized copies from synchronizing to their parents and child synchronized copies. In this screen, select the synchronized copies that you would like to delete.

  • Only files that are synchronized copies of the currently connected parent file can be deleted.
  • You cannot delete a synchronized file that you currently have open.
  • You cannot delete the parent file or any files that have already been deleted.
  • If someone opens an abandoned synchronized copy they will not be able to connect with the parent file. A notice will appear informing them the copy has been abandoned and any changes made to the file will not synchronize with the rest of the hierarchy. However, if the child file was left offline the last time it was opened, the message will not appear until the file attempts to go online.
