Repair File Dialog
The Repair File dialog opens when you select Tools | Repair File. The dialog has Basic and Advanced options.
- The Advanced option displays the Working Papers databases that may be reindexed or renumbered individually.
- The Basic option includes the basic selections for repairing a file.
Option | Description |

Reindex all databases in this client file (Basic option) |
This rebuilds the indices pointing to data in the database and drops records from the database that are marked for deletion thereby reducing the size of the database files. For specific database selection options, click the Advanced button. |
Renumber all databases in this client file (Basic option) |
This renumbers all of the databases in the file. For specific database selection options, click the Advanced button. |
Reindex system databases (Basic option) |
This reindexes the databases containing the system wide user list and passwords. Note: Any reindexing process aborts if there are any other users in the file. All users must exit the file before restarting the process. |
Repost all entries (Basic option) |
This reposts all journal entries in the active client file and updates the trial balance. |
Recalculate file balances (Basic option) |
This recalculates the control accounts and updates the Statement of Cash Flow in the active client file. |
Reindex these databases (Advanced option) |
This lists all Working Papers databases that may be reindexed in the repair. Refer to Databases available to be reindexed and renumbered. |
Renumber these databases (Advanced option) |
This lists all of the databases that may be renumbered in the repair. Refer to Databases available to be reindexed and renumbered. |

In the Advanced options, right-clicking the list of databases to be reindexed or renumbered opens a context menu with the following options:
- Select all - Selects all available databases and also select either the re-index or renumber selection (depending on which list is selected)
- Deselect all - Deselects all available databases and also deselects either the re-index or renumber selection (depending on which list is selected)
- Invert selection - Deselects all selected databases and selects any unselected databases in their place.
