Importing from AICPA's ATB (DOS)

The required ATB (write-up version) files include:

File Containing...
C*.DBF Chart of accounts
M*.DBF Client information
T*.DBF General ledger

For all other versions, the required files include:

File Containing...
filename.DBF Chart of accounts
  • If Protection is activated, the File permission "Import" is required to perform this operation.
  1. Open the client file in which you want to import.

  2. From the Engagement tab, select Import | Working Paper Software.

  3. In the Convert From field, select AICPA’s ATB (DOS) and n the Version field, select the version of AICPA’s ATB you want to import.

    Note: Click here to see all Working Paper Software supported versions.

  4. In the Convert Path field, type the exact path where the file you want to import resides or use Browse to locate the file manually.

  5. To import client information, click Import Client Information. This information will be displayed in the Engagement Properties dialog.

  6. In the Client ID field, select the ID for the client file.
  7. To import the general ledger detail into the Working Papers file, select the General Ledger Details check box.
  8. If importing from version 96.01/98.02, enter the period number in the If use WTB, specify period to compile final balance field.
  9. Click OK to begin importing.

The information from AICPA's ATB files will be imported into the Working Papers client file.

  • ATB stores prior year data in an encrypted form. To import prior year numbers from ATB DOS v98.02, use an ASCII import instead. For details on importing ASCII files, see Importing an ASCII text files.
