Citrix/Terminal Server Environments
Using SmartSync over a Citrix/Terminal Server is beneficial for the following reasons:
Greatly reduced network bandwidth
Rather than requiring client file data to cross the network from a file server to the Citrix/Terminal Server, it is localized to the local hard disk of the Citrix/Terminal Server. Only changes to the engagement file are sent across the network.
Increased performance
Accessing the engagement file from the local hard disk is much faster than over a network. This is especially true when more than one user is in the file where network access is penalized further as Window's network caching (opportunistic locking) is not utilized.
