Creating a Sync Copy for Another User

Although not recommended, it is possible to create a sync copy for another user.

Copying a Sync Copy

  1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the location of the sync copy.
  2. Copy the file, including the _Sync folder, to a network location accessible by the other user.
  3. Open the local sync copy.
  4. On the SmartSync tab, click Delete Copy.
  5. Have the other user open the sync copy to correct the synchronization hierarchy.

Moving a Sync Copy

  1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the location of the sync copy.
  2. Move the file, including the _Sync folder, to a network location accessible by the other user.
  3. Have the other user open the sync copy to correct the synchronization hierarchy.

A sync copy is available to the other user.

  • If the sync hierarchy does not update correctly, in the top-level parent, on the Tools tab, click Maintenance to abandon the sync copy of the creating user.
