Paragraph Borders and Shading Tab - Format Style Dialog

Borders/ Shading

Adds borders and shading to a selected paragraph.

Top Border

Determine the style and position of the border at the top of the paragraph.

Distance from text

Type or select the distance between the border and the text.

Thickness

Type or select the border thickness expressed in points (1/72 inch). Thicknesses can range from 0.1 pts to 10 pts.

Bottom Border

As for the top border, determine the style and position of the border at the bottom of the paragraph.

Left Border

As for the top border, determine the style and position of the border to the left of the paragraph.

Right Border

As for the top border, determine the style and position of the border to the right of the paragraph.

Shade color

Click the down arrow to open the color-selection dialog and set the color for the selected cells.

Extend to margins

Extends the borders and/ or shading to the margins. Clear this option to draw the borders or shading between the left and right indents.
