Indenting Paragraphs

  1. Drag the pointer to highlight the paragraph(s) you want to indent.
  2. Drag the indent markers on the horizontal ruler to the location you want.

  • To return a paragraph to flush left, drag the first line and left indent markers until they appear as .
  • Text in paragraphs usually extends from the left margin to the right margin as indicated by the white bar on the ruler at the top of the document. You can indent a paragraph to set it off from other text using the indent controls described above.
  1. Select the paragraphs you want to indent.
  2. On the Home tab, click Paragraph, and then click the Paragraph tab.

  3. Under Justification and Indents, enter the applicable settings.
  • For faster formatting use or modify the Ready-to-Use styles to suit your needs or create your own styles, which can then be applied to the appropriate paragraphs.
