Relocking a Client File
After a locked down file has been unlocked, you can lock the client file again. If the Keep unlocked until relocked checkbox was selected in the File Locked Down dialog, the client file remains unlocked for all users until you relock it.
When you relock the file, lockdown state is entered again and the same restrictions apply. See Actions automatically performed on lockdown of the file for details.
Prerequisites
- If Protection is activated, you require the Engagement right, Lock Down, to perform this operation.
Procedure
To relock a client file, do one of the following:
- Close the file. The file enters lockdown state.
- On the Engagement ribbon, click Relock. The file enters lockdown state.
Results
The unlocked file will become locked once again.
Note: No history event is created on relocking a file and the Milestone from the first Lockdown will remain in your file.
