Creating a mask for project template numbers
A numbering mask enables you to apply a numbering convention for projects across your firm. The mask supports up to three identifiers with the option of specifying separators (delimiters) between each identifier.
To ensure all project template numbers are unique you must, at minimum, specify the following identifiers:
- Project Template No. AND Generated number
If you do not specify the two identifiers above you can still define a mask for the majority of your project template numbers. You must manually define any other project template number that does not accept the mask.
Update (button)
After specifying a mask click the update button to automatically assign a 'New Year Project Template No.' to each project template. The following two options are available:
- Update all new Project Template No - select this option to update all new project template numbers. This includes overwriting any existing updates you already have made.
- Update blank new Project Template No - select this option to update only rows that do not have a new project template number. Any updates you have made are not overwritten.
Supported Identifiers:
