Fixing diagnostics

Once you have run the diagnostics, if there are any warnings or errors they will appear on your screen.

Warnings are available to let you know what is missing from the file. Addressing them is not critical for Time to function. To fix warnings, visit dialogs and tables associated with that area of Time and supply the missing data.

Errors are problems with the file that need to be corrected. Critical errors should be addressed first.

In the Diagnostic Report you will see a column called "Action", which tells you what to do to fix the error. For each error, double-click the line to drill-down to the area you need to correct. After double-clicking the error diagnostic, you are taken to one of three areas:

  • Repost dialog: This Repost dialog is specific to WIP diagnostics only.
  • Repair dialog: Drill-down to the applicable Repair dialog. In that dialog you can correct problem fields in the database.
  • Other errors: Drill-down to the data tables where you can correct the affected entry.

A user runs a Staff Diagnostics and receives a "Staff needs standard work code rate" error. The "Action" column displays the following message: "Double click on line to repair."

To fix this issue, the user would double-click the error diagnostic to drill-down to the data table. The data table displays the records in the table that need repairing.
