Setting up Project Templates

1. From the Setup menu, select Project Management.
2. Select an existing project template or click New to create a new project template. For examples of project templates, see here.
3. Select the project type. To create new project types, see here.
4. Enter a brief description to identify the project.
5. Select defaults for the In charge person and the team leader.
6. Select defaults for the contract amount, budget hours and budget amount.
7. Select defaults for the critical dates.
8. Define project template issues under the Issues tab. Issues in the project template should be relevant for any client project created from this template. For more information, see Project Management - Issues.
9. Assign staff members to this project template under the Staff tab. Staff members assigned to this template are staff that are expected to work on client projects created from this template. For more information, see Project Management - Staff.
10. Assign clients to this project template under the Clients tab. When you assign a client to the project template a client project with the template defaults is created. For more information, see Project Management - Clients.
11. Customize the settings for one or more clients as applicable. Select the client in the Selected Clients list and then click the Customize button. Follow the instructions for Customizing Projects and Subprojects. The settings can also be changed using the Setup | Clients | Project dialog.
12. Select a roll forward behavior for this project template and its client projects. For more information, see Project Management - Roll Forward.

Setting up Subproject Templates

To access subproject templates click the SubProj button in the Project Management dialog. Specify the subproject details as outlined in steps 2 through 8, and assign relevant clients as outlined in step 10.

Note: The subproject template inherits staff, client and roll forward properties from the project template. You can only assign clients to subproject templates if they are assigned in the project template.
