Modifying or deleting credit notes

You can modify or delete credit notes that were created in the current active period. If you paid the wrong invoice, modify the credit note and re-apply it to the correct invoice. If you entered a credit note for the wrong client, delete the credit note, and re-enter the correct one.

You can process a credit note without applying it to an invoice. Later, unapplied credit notes can be applied by going to the Account Reconciliation dialog and choosing the current or a future period. Similarly, credit notes that have been applied to incorrect invoices may be edited. Again, use the Account Reconciliation dialog to make the changes.
