Trial Balance (TB) vs. Payment History (PH)

  1. The Trial Balance reports provide information to a specific date, but the Payment History reports provide information for a specific period of time. For example, if the current period for the file is March, Trial balance reports display the A/R outstanding balances up to March 31st. However, the Payment History reports display all A/R transactions from March 1st to 31st unless you specify a different range of dates in the properties of the document.
  2. The Trial Balance reports list only outstanding balances of A/R transactions to a specific date for each client in aged format. On the other hand, Payment History reports provide a listing of all A/R transactions either applied or outstanding in detail (invoice, credit note, cash receipt) for the date range specified in the properties of the document.
