Transferring cash receipts from one client to another

Tranferring cash receipts from one client to another is useful when you have posted a receipt to the wrong client. You can use a memo to enter your explanation.

When you apply the transfer, the mis-posted receipt is unapplied from the wrong client and applied to the correct one.

  1. From the Process menu, select Cash Receipts Transfer.
  2. In the Cash Receipts Transfer dialog, enter the client number the cash receipt is being transferred from.
  3. Enter the receipt number being transferred in the Receipt field. The date and amount of the receipt is displayed as information only. If the receipt has been applied, the applied amount will appear in the box provided.
  4. In the "To Client" section of the dialog, enter the client number the receipt is being transferred to.
  5. Click the Memo button to provide an explanation for the cash receipt transfer.
  6. Click the Transfer button.
  7. When the process is complete the transferred receipt information will appear for the recipient client.
  • The same deposit number and receipt number cannot be used in the same day.
  • The cash receipt may have been applied to invoices for the client. If so, when transferring the cash receipt, the applied invoices will be automatically unapplied and then the unapplied cash receipt will be transferred to the recipient client. The receipt number will remain intact.
