Inserting an External Document into a CaseView Document

You can insert external documents in a CaseView document to be printed as part of the CaseView document.

CaseView will start a new page where it finds the external document. The page numbers are incremented in the external document. The CaseView headers and footers are used and the external document pages are reduced to fit in the smaller space.

  1. While in the main document, position the insertion point where you want the external document to be inserted.
  2. On the Insert tab, click External Document.

  3. Select one of the following:
    1. Document Manager if the external document is located on the Working Papers' Document Manager. Expand folders to locate and select the file.
    2. File if the file is located externally to Working Papers. Enter the file path, enclosed in quotation marks.
  4. Select the Modifiable in Form Mode check box to allow the user to modify the external document in Form Mode. For example, a template designer can place a blank external document in the CaseView document and then the user can specify the actual external document later. In Custom Mode a user is able to create or modify external documents if the Modify Paragraph Contents permission has been activated.

Tip: Perform a print preview to display the total amount of page numbers of the external document.
