Replace command

Opens the Replace dialog, which allows you to search for and replace specified text in the active document.

To access this dialog, on the Home tab, click Find | Replace.

Find What

Select the component of CaseView that you want to search through. If you are unsure of whether the string you are searching for is contained in a text paragraph, a cell or a calculation, you must repeat the search for each. CaseView does not allow you to search through all components simultaneously.

Text

Searches all text and input paragraphs.

In Calculation

Searches all calculations.

Find Text

Type the text or calculation you want to search for in the document. Use the drop-down list to return to one of the previous five search strings.

Replace With

Type the text or calculation you want to use as replacement text. To delete the text in the Find What box from the document, leave the Replace With box empty. Use the drop-down list to return to one of the previous five replacement strings.

Search

Use the drop-down list to set the direction and scope of the search.

All

Searches the entire document.

Up or Down

Searches from the insertion point to either the start or the end of the document, respectively.

In Selection

If part of the document is highlighted, this option will be available to limit the find and replace operation to within the confines of the selected content.

Whole Words only

Finds only those occurrences that are whole words, and not part of a larger word. If you are unsure of whether the word is compounded with another word, leave this box cleared.

Match Case

Finds only those occurrences with the exact combination of uppercase and lowercase letters specified in the Find What box. If you are unsure of the capitalization used, leave this box cleared.

Find Next

Finds and selects the next occurrence of the text or cell specified in the Find What box.

Replace

Changes the selected text or formatting to the text or formatting in the Replace With box, and then finds the next occurrence.

Replace All

Finds and replaces all occurrences of the text or formatting in the Find What box with the text or formatting in the Replace With box.
