TOC Marker Tab - Paragraph Dialog

Use this command to create or modify table of contents markers when generating an automatic table of contents.

Table of Contents Marker

To enter information regarding a table of contents marker, activate this check box. Then select options to define the TOC markers.

Use paragraph contents in the Table of Contents

To duplicate the text on the marked line in the Table of Contents, click Use paragraph contents in the Table of Contents.

Deselect Use paragraph contents in the Table of Contents and enter a description of the table of contents marker that will appear in the table of contents when it is generated. Please note that a calculation may be used for this field, as well. Click the [...] button to the right of the bar to access the Calculation Editor.

Show page number

Displays the page number for the current table of contents entry. To show a page number for the current entry, select the Show page number check box. This option applies to every table of contents in which the current entry appears.

Skip Actions

Specify to allow a table of contents marker to have its own skip condition.

Skips when paragraph is skipped

The marker skips the table of contents when the paragraph is skipped.

Never skips

Never skips the table of contents marker.

Skips using condition

Skips using the table of contents skip condition.

Applicable Table of Contents

Table of contents entries can appear in both the main table of contents and a secondary table of contents.

Show in Main Table of Contents

Displays the current description in the main table of contents.

Format Level In Main TOC

Type or select the level of formatting you want to apply to the table of contents entry. An automatic table of contents is formatted by the levels you attach to each entry. Each level can have individual formatting attributes.

Show in Secondary

Displays the table of contents entry in a secondary table of contents. This is useful when preparing sub-documents where a separate table of contents may be generated for each document within the main document. To specify the additional table of contents where you want the table of contents entry to appear, select the table of contents from Show in Secondary box.

Format Level In Secondary

Type or select the level of formatting you want to apply to the current table of contents entry when it appears in a secondary table of contents. An automatic table of contents is formatted by the levels you attach to each entry. Each level can have individual formatting attributes.
