Sorting tab - Section dialog

Sets up sorting parameters for the selected area. Once sorting parameters are defined, the section(s) can be ordered in either the Form or the Design Mode.

Sorting of section with other sections

CaseView can sort sections with other sections in a document. In Working Papers for example, you can establish sorting parameters to sort the Notes at the end of the financial statements. In this instance, paragraph sorting would not be adequate, as notes usually comprise more than one paragraph. Section sorting requires the creation of different sections, which are each assigned a common Sort Group or label.

Enable section sorting

Enables section sorting in either the Design or the Form Modes. Drag the pointer to select the different sections you want to be included in the sorting parameters.

Sorting group

Type or select a description for the sections. Each section you want to be included in the section sorting must use the same sorting description.

Form Mode sorting

Select to set how sorting can be done in Form Mode. The options are:

Include in Form Mode Sorting

Allows the user to sort sections manually.

Exclude Manual Order Sorting

Allows user to sort sections in ascending or descending order based on the sort key set in this dialog. Prohibits the user from performing a manual sort on the section.

Do not allow Form Mode sorting

Prohibits users from including this section when sorting sections in Form Mode. This option should be used when the section is part of a link set where sorting is controlled in another section.
