Columns Display

Displays the selected properties for the table column. The width displayed is the width of the column in Form Mode with the Design Mode width listed in parenthesis beside it.

Size

Auto fit all columns

If selected, column widths will be sized automatically so that the table fits between the page margins. Note that if the page setup changes the columns will not automatically adjust to the new page width until this dialog is opened and OK is clicked again.

Note: The Modify Column Formatting permission is required to clear the Auto fit all columns option. This permission is not required to select this option.

Column width overridden in Form Mode

If selected, indicates that the column width has been modified in Form mode. Clear to return the column width to the Design Mode default.

Width

If autofit has not been selected, set a column width. Click the column to resize and then enter a width. Ensure the column width is large enough to accommodate any fixed width CaseView cells they contain. Columns can be quickly re-sized using the horizontal ruler.

To restore the column width to the size set in Design Mode, click the Use Default Width button.

Note: The column width needs to be set so that the useable space, in addition to any indents and column spaces, is at least .10". Once the indents and the column spaces have been set, it may be necessary to reset the column width so that the useable space is still valid.

Space between columns

Enter a number. The space between the columns must be less than half the width of the smallest columns or text will disappear. If no space between columns is desired, enter 0.00 cm as the space.

Left Side

Sets the space to the left of the column.

Right Side

Sets the space to the right of the column.

Logic

Skip condition

Columns can be skipped when printing. Enter a logical skip condition to prevent the column from printing when the skip criteria are met. Click the button to access the Calculation Editor and create a skip condition.

Hide condition

If applicable, type a logical condition to hide this column from the user in the Form Mode. Click the button to access the Calculation Editor and create a hide condition.

Action if column skipped/ hidden

Select an option for adjusting the table when a column is hidden.

Shrink table

If selected, the remaining columns will close the gap left by the hidden column but will not be resized.

Redistribute width among remaining columns

If selected, the width of the hidden column will be distributed among the remaining columns so that the overall width of the table remains unchanged.

Add width of this column to column

If selected, the width of the hidden column can be designated to a visible column so that the overall table width remains unchanged. Click the drop-down list and select the column to add the width to. The selected column will not be shown on the dropdown list. In addition, if the list is empty, the dropdown box is disabled.
