Linkage command

Accesses the Linkage worksheet where you can link data from the accounting database in Working Papers or Time to cells in CaseView.

A full range of active, comparative and budget figures can be linked to CaseView cells. To view prior and budget figures, click the scroll bar. Multiple accounts can be added or subtracted using the linkage buttons to acquire the desired result.

CaseView inserts the required link calculations in the Equation bar and the selected balance appears in the cell. Any time an account is adjusted in Working Papers or Time, the account balance is adjusted accordingly in the appropriate cells in CaseView.

See To link information from Working Papers for additional information.

Context selector

When the file is consolidated, a drop-down box appears in the upper portion of the Linkage dialog to allow you to switch between entities. Select an entity to calculate balances for that entity alone. For example, select Entity A to see only balances for Entity A; select the parent to calculate all sub entity balances for that parent.

When the selector is set to Default Context, balances for all entities are shown.

Parent only balances

The Parent only balances check box appears when the file is a consolidated one. Select the check box to add the value PAR to the calculation. When the check box is selected, only balances for the consolidated parent are displayed in the Linkage dialog; no sub entities are displayed.

Include sub balances

Select the Include sub balances check box to include the sub balances of mapping numbers, account numers, and groups in calculations. For example, map number 100 has sub mappings of 100.1, 100.2, and 100.3. When you include the sub balance in the calculations, the balances of mapped accounts 100, 100.1, 100.2, and 100.2 are aggregated.

With the check box selected, the value SUB is added to the calculation; for example, ("yr0:sub","100").
