Allowing Changes to Cell Groups from Form Mode

Cell groups are pre-defined formats that can be applied to any cell. You can create cell groups to apply common cell formatting attributes quickly to blocks of cells. Cell groups also enable users in Form Mode to modify cell formatting attributes such as cell width and shading. If you have created cell groups and assigned them to cells, specify the properties you want users in the Form Mode to be able to modify.

  1. On the Document tab, click Cell Groups.

  2. Select the Modifiable in Form option for each property that you want the user to be able to modify while in the Form Mode.

Any property that is modifiable in the Form Mode will appear in the Form Mode Cell Group Edit dialog.

Notes

  • To prevent any changes to the cell group in Form Mode, select the Design Only option in the Design Mode Cell Group Edit dialog. When selected, the cell group does not show in the Cell Group Edit dialog in Form Mode or Form Mode with editing enabled. In addition, if no editable cell groups exist in a document, then the Cell Group command on the Document tab is disabled in the Form Mode.
  • Any changes made to cell groups in the Form Mode will be overwritten when making changes to cell groups in the Design Mode.
