Creating a Group Tab That Automatically Hides The Prior Year Column

  1. On the Document tab, click Cell Groups.

  2. Click New.
  3. In the Name of New Group box, enter "Tab Current Column". Assign a group tab position appropriate if only one column is displaying on the statement. (e.g., 4.80")
  4. Click New.
  5. In the Name of New Group box, enter "Tab Prior Column". Assign a group tab position that approximates the right margin marker on the ruler. (e.g., 6.00")
  6. Under Group Tab Stop, select the Display Only option.
  7. Click Save and save the cell groups as a cell group file entitled "Nopriors.cgf".
  8. Modify "Tab Current Column" and "Tab Prior Column" to create group tabs applicable to a statement with both current and prior year figures. Do not be concerned that you are overwriting an existing format as the previous group tab formats are saved in the cell group file "Nopriors.cgf".
  9. Click the Save button and save the cell groups as a cell group file "TwoCol.cgf".
  10. Click OK.

  11. Assign the group tabs to each paragraph in the statement.
