Creating a Style Using the Style Sheet Command

  1. On the Home tab, in the Styles group, click to open the Style dialog.

  2. If you want to create a style based on an existing style, highlight that style in the list. Click New.
  3. In the New style name box, type a name for the new style.

By default, CaseView bases a new style on the style currently applied to the selected paragraph(s). To base the new style on a different style, select the style from the Based on box. For more information on basing a style on another style, see About Cascading Styles.

To prevent the style from being based upon another style, select (nothing) from the drop-down list.

  4. Click OK. The new style is listed in the Style dialog as a child of the style it was based upon.
  5. Highlight the style and click Modify to make further changes.

  6. Using the Format Style dialog, modify the attributes of the new style. Click on each of the tabs - General, Paragraph, Font, and Tabs - to access and modify the various attributes of the style.
  7. Click OK.

  8. Repeat steps 2 through 7 to create additional styles.
