Renaming a Style

  1. On the Home tab, in the Styles group, click to open the Style dialog.

  2. Click Style Sheets.

By default, the current document appears in the left hand style list box and the last used document displays in the right. The name of the document or style sheet containing the list of styles is written above the list.

  3. In the appropriate style list box, select the style to be renamed.

If necessary, select the appropriate document or style sheet from the Styles available in box. If the desired document or style sheet is not in the drop-down down list, select More files and browse for the file.

  4. Highlight the style to be renamed. Click Rename.
  5. In the New Name box, enter the new name of the style.
  6. Click OK.

Notes

  • Styles in the current document can also be renamed in the Style Sheet dialog by highlighting the style and clicking Modify. In the Format Style dialog, on the General tab, type a new name for the style. Click OK and confirm that you want to rename the style.
