Creating a Sum Group

  1. Select the column(s) of cells by holding Alt and dragging over the cells. To add additional cells outside of the block, click on the individual cells while holding Ctrl. The cell color changes to show that they have been selected.

  2. On the Home tab, click Cell.

  3. In the Sum Group box, enter the name of the sum group and click OK.
  4. In the total cell, enter the following calculation,

CGROUP("my sum group") where "my sum group" represents the sum group assigned to the cells you want to total. Do not assign the total cell to a sum group.

  5. Click OK.

As additional cells are added to the document, assign them to the sum group and the values are automatically incorporated into the total cell.
